Christopher A. Gegg, M.D.

  Christopher A. Gegg, M.D., is an honors graduate from Nicholls State University in Louisiana with a degree in Biology and received his medical degree from Louisiana State University in New Orleans. He trained in Neurosurgery at the University of Texas Health Center in San Antonio. Dr. Gegg’s Neurosurgical training culminated at the University of Texas Southwestern, Children’s Medical Center of Dallas where he completed a Fellowship in Pediatric Neurosurgery.

Dr. Gegg has extensive experience in surgical epilepsy/seizure management and brain tumors and is a longstanding member of the Florida Cancer Institute. Other areas of interest include hydrocephalus, spina bifida, craniofacial anomalies and arteriovenous malformations. He has received certification through the University of Pittsburgh in the practice of Gamma Knife Radiosurgery.

Gegg’s publications have been highlighted in such journals as Neurosurgery, Neurosurgery Clinics of North America, and the American Journal of Physiology. Dr. Gegg is an active member of the Joint Section on Pediatric Neurological Surgery as well as the American Academy of Neurological Surgeons (AANS). He has full board certification by both the American Board of Neurological Surgery as well as the American Board of Pediatric Neurological Surgery. He is delighted to maintain the high standard of pediatric neurosurgical care of this practice and hopes he can assist with your child’s care.
