Keyne K. Johnson, MD
is a 1997 honors graduate from University of Pittsburgh with a Bachelor
of Science degree in Neuroscience, and received her medical degree in 2001
from The University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. Dr. Johnson then
went on to receive her training in neurosurgery at Duke University Medical
Center in Durham, North Carolina where she finished in 2007. While at Duke
University as a neurosurgery resident, Dr. Johnson received several awards
for her research and was a traveling fellow in pediatric neurosurgery at
Primary Children’s Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah. Upon completion of
her residency, her passion to improve the quality of life of sick children
led her to continue her training at Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston,
Texas where she completed her fellowship in Pediatric Neurosurgery in 2008. Dr. Johnson’s clinical interests include pediatric brain and spine tumors, complex pediatric spine including spine fusion, endoscopic surgery, epilepsy, and minimally invasive surgery of the brain and spine. Her research interests include molecular biology of pediatric brain tumors and the clinical application of genomics. Dr. Johnson has written numerous peer-reviewed articles in Neurosurgical journals, and is a member of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons (AANS), Congress of Neurological Surgeons (CNS), and the Children’s Oncology Group (COG). |
